6 Months Old!

Our little rascal turned six months old today (April 15th...this post may say the 14th since it's still the 14th in the USA). We can't post any stats here because she hasn't had her checkup yet, but she's definitely growing! She's into babbling, rolling over and putting things on her face, as you can see:) She especially likes to play "peekaboo", putting a burping cloth over her face and then pulling it off to surprise us:)

Easter Picnic

On Saturday, the day before Easter, we had an Easter "picnic" for kids at a park near the Kawanaka church. The weather was perfect for the time of hunting for Easter eggs, singing and hearing about the resurrection of Jesus. About 20 church, neighborhood and English student kids and parents turned out. Mika and I came at the very end because she was napping and drinking but she got to meet some of the kids and their parents and even got to play with some of the kids back at the church while they were waiting to be picked up. It was so cute to see them playing with Mika. The girl is Nodoka, and she used to be one of my students. She was born with heart problems, and it is a miracle to watch her growing up as she's such a lively girl. A walking (running:) answer to prayer. Her family was living next door to our church's former missionaries, the Broaddusses, back when she was born. They prayed and cared for Nodoka and her family, sharing the hope in Christ. Her mom, older brother and sister became Christians. Her brother will most likely attend Liberty University from this year. The boy in the photo is Harufumi, and he is one of the English students. I taught him a couple of times a couple of years ago while I was substituting. In the last photo, he is trying to talk to Mika through a "cup phone" :)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Everyone! We had a nice time celebrating Christ's resurrection at church on Sunday. Mika must've been a little moved by it all because she cried a lot:( She missed her morning nap with all of the excitement of the day. After the service we had a potluck lunch with everyone. A few of our English students even came to the service, so that was really nice. PHOTOS: Everyone eating after the Easter service....Mika playing since she didn't get to eat the potluck food:)
